East To West - Drifting Through The Lens
What's in a name: Drift Photography Tours
My first trip to Bhutan was back in 2013 and also my first time running a photo tour there — thirteen days leading a group of keen photographers from the far east of the country to the west.
I'd named the business "Drift" to reflect a philosophy of travelling with an explorer's mindset. Unhurried itineraries that were frameworks rather than schedules. Take the path less trodden, chase the light, sit and wait, explore. I was never sure what, if anything, would reveal itself... only to learn over time that it always did.
It was a tour of discovery, but also the start of something lasting: proof that travel is not only about the places we see, but the moments in between where experiences and friendships are not only created but endure.
This mindset is what now informs how we craft Retreat To Bhutan adventures. Of course this story is best told in pictures.
Thanks
Mark
