Retreat to Bhutan was founded by Mark Stennett and Deepak Tamang, two seasoned travel professionals united by a passion for authentic journeys.
Our shared mission is to immerse guests in the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant cultural heritage of Bhutan.
To blend a journey guided by locals with profound knowledge and deep passion for their country, while also recognising that the most memorable moments are often those stumbled upon when you’re free to wander.

I began my journey in the travel industry through my travel photography company Drift Photography Tours, which specialized in Southeast Asia, Indochina, China and most notably Bhutan. Photography is a wonderful medium from which to explore the world as it asks that you stop just looking and start seeing.
I carry forward the same philosophy of moving slowly and inviting genuine connections and memorable moments with the people and place.
It was during these trips that I met my friend Deepak whose company guided all of my tours and is now partnering with me to bring you Retreat To Bhutan. Apart from a deep love for his country, Deepak has pretty mean eye for photography too.
Now based in Hong Kong I invite you to the wonderful country of Bhutan to experience for yourself.

I have been in the travel industry since 2006 when I founded Raven Tours Bhutan and am now excited to also be working with Mark on Retreat To Bhutan.
After spending time in Canada, where I furthered my studies in tourism and worked with Expedia Cruises, I returned home with a fresh perspective and an even deeper commitment to each guest.
Alongside my wife and three daughters, I have travelled the world and continue to seek new experiences that inspire how we welcome guests to Bhutan today.
For us, Retreat To Bhutan expands our existing travel philosophies that we have always held dear at Raven and elevates them to create a genuinely different type of experience.
I warmly welcome you to my homeland.
Deepak
